1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the NeuroLex Dyslexia Detection Platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

NeuroLex provides an AI-powered dyslexia screening and learning support platform designed for educational consultants. The Platform enables consultants to manage student profiles, conduct assessments, track progress, and access resources related to dyslexia detection and intervention.

3. User Accounts

To use the Platform, you must register for an account and provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

• You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
• You must be a qualified educational consultant or professional.
• You are responsible for securing your login credentials.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform solely for lawful purposes related to educational consultation and dyslexia screening. You shall not:

• Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Share student data with unauthorized third parties.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform's systems.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
• Use the Platform to harass, abuse, or harm others.

5. Student Data & Responsibility

As a consultant, you are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from parents or guardians before entering student information into the Platform. You must comply with all applicable data protection regulations including but not limited to COPPA, FERPA, and local privacy laws.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, software, and assessments — are owned by NeuroLex and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Assessment Disclaimer

The screening tools provided on this Platform are for educational screening purposes only. They do not constitute a clinical diagnosis. Results should be interpreted by qualified professionals and supplemented with comprehensive clinical evaluation when necessary.

8. Limitation of Liability

NeuroLex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing the Platform.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.

We collect the following types of information when you use the NeuroLex Platform:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and consultant credentials.
• Student Data: Student names, grades, assessment results, learning profiles, and progress data entered by consultants.
• Usage Data: Log data, browser type, access times, pages viewed, and features used.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and browser version.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform's services.
• Process and manage student assessments and progress tracking.
• Communicate with you about your account and Platform updates.
• Ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing algorithm.
• Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
• Access to student data is restricted to the assigned consultant.
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments are conducted.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or student data with third parties except in the following circumstances:

• With your explicit consent.
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or government requests.
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of NeuroLex, our users, or the public.
• With service providers who assist in Platform operations (bound by confidentiality agreements).

5. Children's Privacy

The Platform handles data of minors as entered by authorized consultants. We rely on consultants to obtain proper parental consent before entering student information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export: Download your data in JSON or CSV format via Settings.
• Opt-out: Control data sharing preferences in your Settings.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to save your authentication session, appearance preferences (theme, font size), and notification settings. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be deactivated and retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, allowing for potential account recovery.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
